Does anyone have a work shop manual for the BX?
I recently bumped the main relief valve to 2000psi as measured at the FEL QDs and got what appears to be a decent bump in capacity (see recent post in customization). However, In going through the parts diagram for the backhoe valve assembly I noticed 3 relief valves - if they are set lower than 2000psi I wouldn't get the full benefit of the additional pressure while hoeing.

Does the manual describe the factory settings for these valves?

Thank's

Dave

They could be shock-relief valves. You should find those on a work port,
not on the main valve body. Don't mess with them, if they can be adjusted
at all.

ACHINBAC,

There is only the tractor system relief set at 1778-1849 PSI on both the loader and backhoe.

dfkrug is correct that the reliefs on the backhoe are overload reliefs - used to protect the weldments from being overloaded as opposed to a circuit relief valve.

FYI the on BX hydraulic circuit, the backhoe is fed first and then the loader so the system RV is downstream at the loader will see the backhoe pressure.

Don't dial in too much "extra lift capacity" or you will break something!

Good luck!

Yankee & Krug,
Thank's for the head's up & by the way, if something breaks, this forum will be the first to know.

Now an update: (long story) Last fall I got stuck in a poop pit helping the neighbors flatten out an area where they dump the horse stalls - at one point I extended the hoe straight out to grab and pull me out, or to try & reposition the rear wheels (was up to the axles at that point) down pressure on the boom failed and could not lift the tractor. Got out eventually. An hour ago I took the tractor out to see how the new front struts work & for grins set the FEL down, lifted the front wheels, extended the backhoe all the way out, and the boom picked the tractor up easily (pics later). It appears the boost on the relief valve works on the backhoe as well as the FEL.

For the few times I need the extra juice, the upgrade is worth the risk (for me)

Dave

Love the picture. For some reason that is just too cool. Either for changing tires or the profile lights, I am not sure, but definately too cool. This will take a couple Friday night Cocktails to decide...........

Early next week I will aslo be tweaking the paramaters on mine.
