Got my BX24 last November. Everything froze up soon after, so all I was able to do was snow removal for a while. Spring is here, everything is soft and I filled up the tank. I've been clearing my property of everything for a while. It's just overgrown, some nice tries, but alot of crap. I left up anything over 8" and everything under came down. Probably about 30 trees so far and still going. Looks alot clearer and my bandit chipper is doing a fine job.
I took the BX out back to start pulling some stumps. Started with a 5" pine. Took about 5 minutes. First time and still learning. Got about a dozen out in about two hours. That includes leveling the hole and carrying the stump away in the loader. Biggest stump was about 8" and it really wasn't that hard. DIg around, rip the roots going out then try to roll it out with the BH bucket.
My post is directed to lurkers that aren't sure and are on the fence. It's not that hard and alot of fun.

OK

I'm going to do a couple more today. I'll get the camera.

You know, being part of the Lbrown fan club requires one to forget pictures, LOL

Asylum,

I like you am digging and grinnin.......

I purchased a BX24 in December and it was in the garage until about the end of March. I have been digging stumps myself, Tree of Heaven stumps to be exact. Those things have one heck of a root system, very complex and spread out everywhere. The last stump I dug out had a root ball about 5 feet in diameter and 4 feet deep before I finally got it broken loose, the stump itself was about 12 inches in diameter. I have about 17 hrs on my machine and I bet that 15 of them are digging stumps and the other two is related to FEL work.

I am really impressed with how this small machine will dig, both the hoe and FEL for its size. It has all the power I really need and if I need it to do larger jobs all it takes is a little more time, thats it. Presently I am working on a stump system consisting of (2) Tree of Heaven about 10" each connected, and one very large (18") cherry, which is connected to the (2) Tree of Heaven stumps, one big blob of stump! When I'm done and have it out I will then have a crater to fill in! Again, the machine will do it, just will take some time.

I surely don't ever regret purchasing this machine, it is a workhorse for its size!

PS.....it does get stuck and will roll over if you are not careful, I can attest to both!

Craig

Here are a couple more. This one was tricky because it was so close to the big tree. There's a picture of stumps in the bucket. And what happened to most of the trees that fell.

Very impressive job. Sometimes your better off with a smaller machine because you get more seat time. What gets boring is if you run out of projects.

Asylum, good looking job, there is a lot of satisfaction when you roll back one of those stumps and hear those roots popping away. I am stumping about an acre, I picked up a thumb about a month ago, I will tell you it goes a long way toward making the job a lot easier. Once you pop the stump, pick it up with the thumb, shake the dirt off of it and then drive it away for its final testing place.

I'm planning on getting a brotek thumb and a couple other gadgets. I really didn't have much trouble getting underneath the stump and bringing it up. The one big one I couldn't grab. I just pushed away with the FEL.

I got my BX24 in the winter too, and have been enjoying the recent thaw and ripping out stumps. I added a Bro-Tek thumb and found it extremely usful when removing stumps.
