BX24 Alternator

Can anyone tell me the output of the alternator supplied stock on the BX24? I can't find this spec in the owner's manual. Thanks.

i read this in a thread a while back. seems like it's around 40 amps or so. someone will chime in with the exact number....

i think all the bx24 units came with the alternator. bx23 had the dynamo stock with alternator upgrade option. at least that's how i remember it....

my 24 has the alternator and i didn't order it a special way or pay extra as far as i know.

My BX23 has a 15 amp dynamo .
The 40A alternator was an extra cost item.

Looked in the BX24 factory workshop manual- although they show how to measure the charging current with an ammeter they never say what it should be

Thanks gents. My BX 24 does indeed have the alternator, not the dynamo, so I guess the 40 amp unit is stock as per some of the replies.

Is the 40 amp alternator output the save for the BX2350/60 and BX1850/60? Seems it wouls be. I ask because I'm in the process of wiring up two 55 watt work lights and I'm assuming I can run these off the stock alternator, which I though was 40 amps.

I have BX24 and i am including a pic of my alternator. I found a pic on this website that shows the old dynamo alternator that looks smaller and has solid casing. perhaps you could compare yours and make an educated guess.
