I was planning on using my boxblade yesterday and removed the BH.

When I grabbed the 3 pt hitch assembly, I started installing it and noticed one of the threaded adjusters was bent. I could probably bend it back in a vise, but suspect the structural integrity is compromised. It's the 8-10" nipple, threaded on both sides with a hex in the middle to adjust. There are two, one on each side.

I just went through TSC's website and didn't see it. I figure it's about 8-10" and 3/8 thread. I could probably find something at Home Depot, but it would have to have the same strength. It's yellow metal in color. Any Suggestions?

Straighten it and go to work. It keeps the implement from swinging side to side and really isn't under a tremendous amount of tension if adjusted properly. It probably was bent by being too loose and binding under a compression situation. The turnbuckles should be adjusted so there is some play but all loads should be tension. If you can swing the hitch far enough to the side to bind the linkage in compression, the other side is too loose.

Also, I doubt you'll find one at HD as one end has left hand (backwards) threads.

Forgot about the backwards thread. Thanks.

I can't believe I didn't describe them as turnbuckles. I better get my boat in the water.

I bent one of mine pretty good, and got a new one, but I don't remember how much it cost.

Banged it straight this morning. Some of the threads up the shank got pinched , but it seems to work well.

Thanks guys.

Just an update.

Three hours of seat time pulling the boxblade just fine.
I'm trying to do some grading before we get two inches of rain this afternoon.
How bad was this storm in the Midwest?

I'll keep my eye out for a new turnbuckle next time i'm at TSC.

you're not the only one with a bent turnbuckle. I have one bent as well and was able to bend it back enough so i can still turn it with wrench but not by hand. grrrrr. I like the idea of having telescoping tensioner but the turnbuckles can make it easier to make it more stiff for tight working conditions.
