Anyone else have one of these buckets? I had to ditch the new skid steer quick attach that came with my machine an modified the bucket mount slightly but it works awesome.

I would love to get one, had one on my old backhoe and I loved it. Nice for cleaning piles down smooth to the ground without pushing the pile around. Use the float going in reverse with the front jaw down and slowly rotate till the back bottom touches the ground and close the jaws. Great for trees and brush also.

Huge shame to ditch the skid-steer style quick attach. You really would not have to do that. There are SO MANY 3rd party manufacturers of buckets (both plain and 4-in1) to fit standard skid steer adapters. Many good ones and you would have had a wide choice of bucket sizes and features. The skid-steer interface is one of the best standards ever to hit the equipment market in my opinion because there is 100 times as much "stuff" to fit the skid-steer interface as there is to fit any brand-name tractor manufacturer interface. It is a standard that is truly brand-independent. Most likely the skid-steer plates and latches on your BX are/were compatible with the smaller of the two skid steer standards. I think that your original adapter plates would fit any size skid steer implement BUT the larger skid steer attachments would often be "too big" for the BX to cart around and try to use. The mini-skid steer attachments, ones made for that smaller size, are probably about right but you have to mix and match and pay close attention to get what you really want. Never buy without trying them on for size and function.

No, but I would love to have one!

How much more does this weigh than the factory bucket and how do you work the hydraulics?

With the factory skid steer attach an bucket it's over 220lbs. This 4 in 1 is 268

It all came down to the weight issue with the skid steer mount an my set of forks. I didn't want that mount when I ordered the tractor but it comes with the loader from the factory. I'm completely happy with the way it's set up now.

I've talked to Jj1479 in other places on the interwebs about his set-up, but I'll offer up some more info on this subject.

The biggest issue with a Universal Mount for a BX 4in1 is width. We faced this challenge when designing the lightest, strongest grapple on the market for a subcompact tractor; our new 55" Wicked Grapple Rake.

You see, the outer width of a BX pin on mount is right at 33", so you have room for the cylinders to fit on either side and keep bucket width down to 48".
BUT
Throw a Universal Mount on there and you're dealing with over 44" of width. Add the outer cylinders & hydraulic fittings and 55" is as narrow as a 4in1 or rake style grapple can get.

The best 4in1 solution I know of for a subcompact tractor with SSQA is the WR Long HJ2L model. 60" is the smallest one with a SSQA, but it still is ONLY about 260 pounds. Pretty impressive! The 60 isn't shown on that page, but it can, and has been built.

Right here is the best grapple in existence for a subcompact SSQA tractor wanting to maintain as much lift capacity as possible. The design wasn't easy, but it was worth it.
It's been an awesome seller right out of the gate for the new BX and B series, John Deere 1025 and 2000 series, Mahindra Max, and more little ones!

I don't have pics of one on a BX yet & my only excuse is lack of time. Our BX2670 has this Quick Attach Adapter on it, so we could do it in a jiffy.

I do not understand the width issue with the skid-steer adapter at all. Why is that a problem ? Maybe pictures would clarify.

By the way, I just modified an old used bucket (60" wide) to use for snow removal with my BX2200. Works fine. Obviously too big if heavy wet soil and gravel are your objective. Maybe the concern is Kubota owners always trying to do too much for the size of their machines ? Undeniably true. But so what ? I'd say that is inherent in the history of Kubotas from day one in the USA.

The skid steer quick hitch plate that I could weld on to the bucket would cover the hydraulic cylinders an the lines making it almost impossible to change a line if needed.

I guess once you bought the Landpride 4-in-1 you had to work with that as a given. What I was saying to start with in post #3 was that there is a large variety of 4-in-1 buckets that would have fit your existing skid steer adapter plates that came on the loader. Until you bought the Landpride bucket there was no reason to modify anything. Since Kubota dealers now sell Landpride painted orange they probably did not tell you that. Too late now.

So I still do not picture what the width issue is (but my understanding all that is unimportant.) Apparently the width issue is integral to using the Landpride bucket and whatever mods were required depending on the loader interface.
