Kubota BX2370
I have a kubota BX2370 with R4 tires and I was wondering how much each tire would weigh if it was filled with liquid ballast? Will they help with the lifting capacity of the FEL?

You can get the information from the rimguard website, but if I recall, you'll get somewhere around 90 lbs in each rear tire and 30 lbs in each front tire. No, does not help with lifting capacity at all. If your problem is that the rear end lifts off the ground when you try to lift something heavy, then yes it will help, but a ballast box or other heavy implements on the 3pt hitch will help more.

I have a 2360 and even with the tires filled, the rear end jumps with a load of firewood in the bucket. After a while you just get use to the tipsiness of the machine and go on about your work. My property has an incline, which has caused some scary moments for me, but so far the pants are still dry.

How is the imprint with the tires on the lawn when mowing with a BX with loaded rear tires?

Not too bad. It does flatten the grass down if it's long, but unless you try to go fast and run the risk of spinning the tire there is little damage to the grass. I don't mow with mine. I just use it for moving things as well as for plowing in winter. It has been a real back saver these past few years.

But when you drive over your lawn with your BX, it doesn't make any ruts or digs in?

I'd highly recommend a ballast box or heavy implement on the rear. Two reasons:

First, when the back tires are lifting off, you are putting all the weight on the front axle, risking damage. Check your owners manual for the weight capacity of the front axle, then add up the weight of the tractor, loader, what ever is in the basket, and you!

Second, the brakes are on the rear, unless you are in 4wd, if you are going down a slope, and the back tires are on the edge of lifting, you have no/low traction with the rears, and may find yourself riding down the hill unable to stop....

I've used my bx2200 since 2001 with ag tires. No problem with lawn at all. Also have the rear tires loaded with rim guard. It helps a lot when pushing snow. I think you would be fine with WW fluid. But stay away from CaCl I found rusty rims after 13 years and had to replace one rim and was able to salvage the other. Again I think my lawn looks great right after mowing with the ag tires. I believe that any tractor of this size and weight, no matter the tire style, will leave marks in a tight fast turn. :2cents: On the straight aways going up and over hills, I see no tire tracks. :)

Add weight to the rear for the reasons given. Let a tractor take off with you, turn over or tear up you'll see the error of your ways. A boxblade is a very usable implement and can add the weight needed for FEL work. A used BB can be reasonably priced.
