BX2350
Hi all, my BX2350 turns 2 years old next month and before the warranty runs out I wanted to get the fender reinforcement done at the dealer. No cracks in my fenders, so do folks know if I should get:

A: The Step stay kit: BX2350 part number K2581-9554-0 (fenders are not cracked)
B: Fender Kit: BX2350 Part number K2581-95522

or both of these together. Don't know if my dealer will be supportive of this but wanted to get my facts straight before I talk with him this weekend.

Will also talk to him about the seat, but I don't put enough hours on for the original to be a big problem (seems fine to me).

Thanks!

My opinion is after installing the step kit, the fender should never crack, no reason to replace it, so I didn't.

I just got the fender because I had my BX roll backward into my wife's SUV.. didn't set the brake.. and had it in high range.. engine off.. it just slowly rolled back.. picked up speed and whammo.. broke off the entire left rear corner. Anyway.. I ordered a replacement and was told by the dealer that the price was actually lower for the fender kit with the step reinforcement hardware than it is for JUST the fender.. 350 bucks.. plus another 50 to have it drop shipped from Kubota.

Now, I'm doing this myself and the dealer says it's a 2 and a half hour job for his guys.. So it's an expensive project if you're going to have the dealer do it.

I wouldn't expect them to give you a free fender kit if there is no damage on yours.. The step kit would be free.

Expect to pay about 50 bucks for the seat.. half that if you give them the old one back. That's still way below the retail price of the seat.. something like 150 bucks.

I replaced my fender myself, there is a thread on here somewhere with some pics and instructions I posted.

To answer the original question: I think if you have the step kit you are good to go, no need to replace the fender.

While I am not a dealer, I was told by a dealer that in order for Kubota to provide the step stay under warranty (free) the tractor must have had a warranty fender replacement already. One that is not widely known is the replacement battery cover. The new one is much stiffer and stays installed as it should.

Seems stupid to me. I mean.. why let people continue to break expensive fenders when the step kit probably doesn't cost them much and labor time is minimal.

I got my BX a year ago this month and it came with the step kit already installed by the dealer.

I had to ask him about the seat..

Now I'll ask him about the battery cover.

I never said it made sense. I just passed along what I was told when I asked for the kit.
