Hello,
I recently bought a used BX23 with about 600 hours on it. The seller last had it serviced about 80 hours ago with a dealer at which time they replaced all fluids and filters. I found the transmission fluid was low, off the dipstick. I pumped new UDT into the transmission; it took about 2 quarts to get it to the top of the dipstick. I subsequently did some work with it for about 3-4 hours. Today the oil level was off the dipstick again.
I have some hydraulic fluid leaking from the backhoe controls, but even though the dipstick for the transmission seems really short and probably doesn't gauge a high volume of oil, it doesn't seem like there's any way it's leaking fast enough to account for that. Is it possible that when I got the oil level yesterday to the upper mark on the dipstick, it had some settling to do in the system and wasn't really topped off?
For now I'm just going to top it off again and see what happens.
Thanks
