BX23 ENGINE IN BX24 ?

Any BX24 owners out there ever wonder why the engine says "BX23" on it? Just something I have been wondering about and never asked. I have had my BX24 for almost a year now. Great tractor!

I'm gonna guess because it is from the 23? I don't know what changed between the two other then the highlights I saw when we were shopping for the 24. Mine says 23 on it as well.

Only 1HP per the Kubota website. That can be done as easy as tweaking the fuel system.

My 2004 BX23 has the D905 engine in it and it's rated at 22hp. Kubota also put the D902 engine in the BX23/BX2230's at some point.
What model engine does the BX24/BX2350 have?
If it's the D902 then some later model BX23/2230's may actually have 23hp.

Wasnt there something on here a while back ,about Kubota mis converting some numbers which made the 23 actually 24 hp? Does any one recall that ?

I have the Operator's Manuals (showing the specifications) for both the BX23 and BX24 in front of me. The engine displacement for both units is the same at 54.8 cu.in. However, there are small differences between them

The BX23 Engine Type is D905-E2-BX, the Engine Gross HP is 22, and the Maximum torque is 40.5 (at 3200 RPM).

The BX24 Engine Type is D902-E2-BX-2, the Engine Gross HP is 23, and the Maximum Torque is 41.4 ( at 3200 RPM).

Further, if you look at the mower attachment for the BX24, it actually says BX23 on it, yet it will not readily fit a BX23.

Kubota has labeled some of theBX series engines wrong at times.
My BX2200 engine was labeled as a one liter (1000cc) engine. Check the casting number on the block itself. I believe it will say D905 if it was an older BX2200 and D902 on the newer ones except for the 18 Hp. BX tractor.

Here's a list for engine replacement. IMHO, the difference would only be some tweaks, the part numbers are not the same as said previously. BX2350 and BX24 are the same.
