Just installed a set of 4 LED lights, two on the front of my canopy frame and two on the back. The specs on (each) light is 27W, 2.25A@ 12V.

Thanks to members here, I used the spare wires set behind my seat. They work great but..... The concern is that when I turn on my ignition key to pre-heat my glow plug all four lights go on.

I think I'm in need a switch but at a loss as to how, what and where to install it. I watched a couple of videos yesterday and it sounds like I need a switch and relay???

All 4 lights draw 9 amps and I'm concerned about a fire. I was thinking of using the existing switch on the dash but it looks like it will be a pain fishing two wires / conduit to the rear of the BX.

Any help and suggestions (Pictures) will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Joe S.

Here is what I did. I ran a new set of wires from the battery to under the seat with a circuit breaker on the hot side of the battery. I built a switch box from a plastic project box and a mounting bracket so it would attach to the base of the ROPS. I only install my lights and and the box in the winter when I have my soft cab installed. The box has four switches. The top switches independently control the front lights and rear lights. One lower switch turns my rear view camera on the the other one puts power to the winch that rotates my snowblower chute.

I bet if you measure the actual amps they will be much less. That痴 what I found.

Since you already ran the wires for lights... You probably might want to just simply add a inline switch on red side of wiring. (Positive power) you didnt say how you ran wires but did say used the aux wiring im back so im going to assume yoy just connected wires from there and straight to your rops taping wire to rops going to top where the lights are. If you did.. Again just find the red side and cut. Put a simple switch there and mount switch where u can reach. A neater and better way is run new wire from battery console. Add relay to postion on key when on only not glow. Disconnect the power from back of tractor anf run new wire from relay. No switch needed if you dont mind lights on all the time after starting. Or add switch if u want.

Excellent idea, looks great but way above my pay grade and knowledge level. Thanks!

Thanks Radioman, I do have a simple led toggle switch. So do I just use this connector and cut into the power (red) wire and connect the other lead to ground? Screenshot_2017-12-15-19-53-39-405.jpegScreenshot_2017-12-15-19-59-26-580.jpeg

Looking at yout switch... You have 3 terminals. I suspect that the bottom two is for the red side of your wire. You need to physically cut wire and crimp on a push on blade type connector on both sides of wire. The third terminal that is for allowing the led to lighy up i suspect and you need a wire from that terminal and use the plastic connector you have shown to the ground wire that goes back to black side of wire . if i remember correctly the wire bullet connectors on tractor wasnt color coded i think... You need to use the meter to confirm the positive. And negative side. Just be sure positive goes to switch on bottom terminals ans side terminals uses the pish connect on wire going back to negative side. Mind you.. Do all the cutting and splicing on the wire you ran side only. Never on tractor original wiring

There is a relay on Amazon for $12.99 right now that I just installed. It has a wireless remote you put on your keychain. The harness it comes with has a relay and is fused. It also has a physical switch if you want it. I just disconnected it. I have found this to be the cleanest/easiest way to do it.
