BX2230 3 point troubles

When I raise the 3 point hitch from the lowest position to the top it will stop raising when it gets about 3/4 of the way up. The engine then bogs down and the hydraulic hoses at the joy stick stiffen. If I then release the 3 point control and then try to raise the 3 point again it will raise a little bit higher and the same thing happens again. If I repeat two or three times eventually the 3 point will make it to the top. I bought the tractor new and it always did this. I am beginning to realize this is not right and it is an issue for the dealer, but if it is something I can fix I would rather do it myself.

Adjusting the nuts on the rod with the spring that attaches to the 3 point control does not fix the problem.

Yes I would say this needs looked at.I have a 2230 has never acted as you have explained.I guess you would check the arms that nothing is resticking there movement,amybe disconect the arms to see if it acts any different.Does your control lever move back to the center once it hits the top?How about your mid mount mower?does it function normal?is there anything caught in mower arms?With the engine bogging down and the hose firm sounds like something is stopping movement.Some times a good look under there will reveal the answer.I'm sure you'll get some other ideas from here,or stop by and ask your dealer. I found my problem. The shaft that connects to the control arm that they call the feedback arm was hanging up on one of the couplings that it slides through. Boy was I relieved to find that! The feedback arm was getting stuck as the 3 point was raised and forcing the control arm to the central position and shutting of hydraulic flow. I just put a little oil on the control arm and I was in business.
