Re: BX2200 won\'t be used all winter - precautions?

Hey Junkman,
I wouldn't be so sure about the D-con safety issue. I am a small animal vet and have treated several and lost some patients to D-con. Check the active ingredients on the label and call your local posion control and ask them this question. More and more of these rat posions are getting very efficient at what they are designed to do. Many only require a single dose as compared to the old original "WARFRIN" products which required the victim to eat several doses. Also, most can now cause secondary poisonings - i.e. mouse eats D-con, mouse dies, dog or cat eats mouse and dog or cat can now be poisoned /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif! Be careful with these products and maybe check with another vet!

Don't need to check with another vet...... I will take your word for it..... That information that I received was about the "old" warfrin type of poisons..... I wasn't aware that they had changed the formula. Thanks for the update..... I will check my packages in the morning to see what the active ingredient is and take the proper precausions..... thanks again for the update.....
