Hi All - I 've been watching this site for a couple of weeks and gathering some very useful info. Thank you. I'll get straight to the chase I'm looking to purchase a sub-compact and have pretty much narrowed it down to the bx1500(new-FEL & 54"mmm) or bx2200('03 32 hrs., 60"mmm, 5' rear blade & log splitter). I can get the 2200 for $8,800 from friend. Local dealer wants $2600 including tax and install for FEL. This puts me at $11,400 for the 2200. Quote for the 1500 as listed above came in at 10,500 tax included. Question, is the 1500 a major drop off from the 2200? and do these prices seem in line. I would get he 2200 no problem if I could get the FEL price down some. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

carona4,
I can only comment about what other bx owners have said. I have a BX23, so I cannot compare to the 1500. However, I have read very little about guys with the 1500 being unhappy with it. I would think that the 60' mower would be better and you can shop around for a loader a bit. Personally, I would go with the bx2200. By the way, Why is your friend selling an '03 bx2200?

He's selling because he has toooo many toys. Also I've shopped around as much as I can in my area for he FEL and $2600 was as low as I could find. I'm just wondering if there is any wiggle room.

Really can't help you with that. My loader came with the BX23. Still sounds like a reasonable deal for the 2200

Welcome to TBN. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

If these 2 attachments are ones that you would use. I would think the BX2200 is a better deal.

The BX1500 will have 0% finance rate. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

With any tractor more Horsepower is a plus. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

7 HP is a big jump in power. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The price jump to a new 2230 is not that much, you might want to barter with your friend some. Also zero percent financing could get you some free money for awhile.

I would seriously look at the 2200. The 15 to me is just under powered?? That is only my thinking. Others would say it will do the job. But 7 HP is a major difference. The other thing I would say is and this is only based on other post is the 54" mmm on the Kubota is not that good. The 60" MMM is a much nicer mower. As far as pricing, I can't give you much on that as I just don't know. You may want to check around on that used 22 and see how it compares new.

Which dealers in SE. wis? I am from Wis. too. I looked at the Janesville dealer, but wound up buying from McFarlanes in Sauk City. The same place I bought my B7500 from in 2001. Call them and get a quote for a loader. They put one on my B7500 for $2500, 2 years ago.

I'm in west bend area. So far I've tried mid-state in jackson, Feldmans in howards grove ,tractor loader service in waukesha and Lochen in Newburg. Lochen has been the best in price and customer relations so I would really like to deal w/ them plus they are close by. What gets me is the range of price for install from $100 to $350?? I'm going to try to contact Lochen again to see if they can sharpen their pencil a little. seemed like very nice people. Wish I could say that for the rest.
