The nuts on the check chains aren't the easiest things to adust if your hands are wet, cold, greasy of if you have a load on them. I made a hand size adjuster by cutting off the big end of a quick hitch bushing (it fits over the nut) knurled it,
and welded it to the nut (see photo)
If you are under 60 you might not need this, but it sure is nicer for old fingers to get ahold of.
