Has anyone put AG tires on their BX200? I called my dealer and he said all that was listed was Bar tires, which I think (my limited knowledge) is not as durable. I got a great price on the bar tires with rims $300.00 for the set. I assume that any AG tires would be more narrow and not fit on my existing turf tire rims? Does anyone have any experience with AG's on the BX2200?

As far as I can tell the only two options for tires are turf and bar. I have turf with chains and this works great for me.

I haven’t looked, but I would doubt you’ll find anything but the turfs and bars available in the sizes you would need. I know that the turfs supplied with the BX are made by Titan and I think that the bars are made by Maxxis. You might contact them for additional options.

I, like Dave, have the turfs, and I have been extremely pleased with them. The only time where I thought I would have been better off with the bars is when I’m doing some tilling but so far I’ve had no problems.

Of course, the $300 bucks for a second set of wheels and tires is a bargain as far as I’m concerned. If you consider that the average price for tires in the appropriate sizes would cost between $50-$75, you would basically get the wheels for free.

The reason for wanting more aggressive tires is that I use the tractor quite a bit at the hunting club and I am tired of having to have the John Deere owner come pull me out!! The turfs work great except in a few acres that stays muddy year round. I guess I will go with the BAR tires and give them a shot. Thanks

My BX2200 had turfs on it and I was quite pleased, even with all the FEL work my wife and I do, so when I took delivery on the BX-22, I got it with the turf tires, too. After some discussion here at TBN, I opted to "trade up" to the bar tires. WHAT a difference. They have the traction of the "ag" tires you see on larger tractors, but also float pretty well which minimzes damage to the grass. I feel like I can really push up to the limit of the machine now with the FEL--something I apparently wasn't benefitting from previously. The only marking I've had was when it was either really wet or when I was making tight turns in 4wd.

Having a set of each could actually be nirvana, but I can't justify the expenditure at this time, nor the switchover time.

jph_in_Bama,

Keep in mind that even if you do happen to find a set of AG tires with the proper rim size, you'll need to make sure that the outer-diameter (rolling circumference) of the tire is the same as the tire that came off the rim. This is important so that the 4wd mechanism isn't damaged.
