Help, our BX2200 ran out of fuel. Tried what the manual said to do to bleed the lines and it didn't work. What should be done next? Anyone know how to manually bleed the fuel lines? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

AK1,

Are you sure it ran out of fuel?

I want to think I remember a blown fuse can cause the same symptom...engine turns over but does not start...because the fuel shutoff solenoid is not energized.

I don't think I am dreaming this up... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Just another thought since apparently you filled the fuel tank and turned the key on, and heard the fuel pump clicking, and the engine turns over but does not start, right?

Yes, I'm sure it ran out of fuel. Checked the fuses and they seem to be okay. The engine does not turn over.

You mean, the starter motor doesn't even crank the engine? Have you checked all of the control positions to ensure that none of the safety switches are preventing it from cranking?

regards,

Mahlon

Check to make sure everything is in neutral. I've done this several times, turning the key and hearing the engine click but refuse to turn over.

I ran mine out of fuel several times, there is nothing to bleed. Just let the key on for a few seconds and the electric fuelpump will pressurize the system. It will shake and knock when she first fires up but will be ok. If the motor is not turning over check for netural and the fuse beside the oil filter.

Like the others have said, the engine not turning over and running out of fuel is unlikely to be connected. Probably a safety interlock. I have not tried it on my BX, but I think there is an interlock on the directional pedal, along with the range selector needing to be in neutral and the PTO off.

Try holding the key in the start position and wiggling all the levers and working the HST pedal a little. Mabye this will cause whatever switch is not closing to close.

You may also have a seat interlock switch. You are sitting in the seat when trying to start it, right?

Hope you got it running before you read this post... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Try to keep running fuel through it.

Still can't get it to crank. It's in neutral, the PTO is disengaged, fuel pump seems to be pumping. Engine blows white smoke, tries to turn over but won't. Fuse appears okay. Plenty of fuel in the tank. There is no seat switch.....not sure what else to do. Help!!!

So it must be turning over if it is blowing white smoke?
