Has anyone else had these lines wear a hole in themselves from the clamp? I had this happen on the quick-disconnect side and just made sure that the clamp was tight after I replaced the line, but I didn't think to engineer some sort of protection for the lines on both sides.

Now one of the lines that run back to the pump has a leak and I wonder if anyone has fashioned something to prevent more chafing, or if later BX's have better mounting/clamp bracket technology.

Any thoughts on replacing and protecting these lines would be greatly appreciated. Hope I can get the darned thing out without tearing off the floor pan and the fel mount.

One thing I suggest when I build a new steel line for something like this is to split a piece of rubber fuel hose and wrap it around where the clamp goes. Also, make sure the lines have no play when in the clamp. If they vibrate, they will wear a hole. Just remember, an ounce of prevention it worth a pound of cure.

Yes, that very thing happened to the BX2200 that we have at work. The line looked to be crimped from the clamp being too tight rather than wearing through.

Too loose...too tight...gee whiz. I've noticed on my machine that the "middle" quick connect line is loose, but the other two are held in place. This little binder plate looks like one of those things that could have been designed a bit better. But wasn't.

Perhaps I'll trim out a bike tire or something and get some padding in there. Then I won't feel too bad about cranking down on the holder.

I had this same problem. I ordered the replacement part and had the pinhole leak welded shut so I could use the fel while I waited for the replacement. The repair worked so well, I have never put the replacement part in (could've saved about $60).

It would be a good idea as mentioned to put some padding in the bracket.
