BX2200 intermitant starting problem

After the tractor is used for awhile, when I shut off and try to start it later, it sometimes will not start. On a cold start, it has always started with no problem, until today. Would not start Friday evening after using and towing back to the house. Let it sit till morning and started instantly. Parked it and tried to start this afternoon with no luck. It's starting to be more frequent. Dealer says change fuel filters, but that doesn't make since because it will run and mow at full throttle with no fuel starvation. Anybody had this problem? I assume you mean it cranks, but will not start?

Sorry, forgot to mention that it does crank. Just won't start.

Wish I could have gotten some advice here. Fortunately for me, I spoke to a good Kubota mechanic and he said it was the fuel shutoff solenoid. About $120 from dealer. Just wanted to give a followup for anybody researching this problem later.

Thanks for the update. I can't remember hearing of that situation with a BX before. Many about NOT being able to shut the engine off due to solenoid though.

I am having the same problem. When I turn the key to start and hold it will run but when I let the key go back to the on position it dies out. A friend of mine came by a told me it was the fuel shutoff solenoid. Are you in the Houston area? Just curious what deaer you used if so. A dealer I spoke to quoted me $140.

I live in the Victoria area. Got a quote of $119.95 from my local dealer. Got a quote online at one of the major Kubota suppliers for $108, but once you pay for shipping, I would as soon by local. I have not installed the solenoid yet, but I was told, if it wasn't puffing black smoke when cranking, it wasn't getting fuel and the problem would be the solenoid. I'm not sure if it runs with the key held on that it's the same problem. This won't even start. I would check the wiring at the solenoid plug before I bought one. Good luck!
