BX2200 Headlights

While investigating cheap filter housing strap solution (previous post) I noticed that if I left the engine shroud off, the headlights are VERY BRIGHT! After owning this tractor for 11+ years and being very disappointed with the brightness of the headlights, it appears that the cheap plastic cover/diffuser was actually blocking most of the light!

Tractor looks stupid without headlight cover and lights are pointed too high, but they are BRIGHT. I think a washer or two may fix the height issue, but what about the cover? Plexiglass?

So I guess I'm the only one in the dark on a BX2200?

I have an 03, BX2200 and never thought to check, but then again I don't use mine much at night. I will check and let you know.

There is an old forum around here somewhere where someone retrofitted HID lights into his BX. I put 100w off roads on my ROPs.

On my BX, the plastic cover is clear , you can see the bulb. It must be the clouded plastic on yours. I dont see an issue with plexiglass as long it doesnt melt :laughing:

My BX2200 light cover fell out and I ran over it. The replacement was right inexpensive, so don't hesitate to price one if yours is cloudy.

My loader bucket it the biggest treat to lighting I have, and without it, I am sure the lights would be quite good.
