Bx220 throttle cable

Started to notice that there seemed to be more movement in the throttle handle before there is any response from the engine. Removed air guard so I could see up under the dash. Can see where the cable connects to the handle and there seems like there is an awful lot of play in it. About 3/4" of travel before it tightens up. This does not seem right to me. Should'nt cable be taunght or tight all of the time? Can someone check theres and let me know.

Look at the other end of the cable housing where it is anchored to the bracket just before the injector pump. There are two nuts there to take the slack out of the cable.
