Well after having my BX22 TBL with mower for 20 hours I have found the following things I like and dislike. Again these are thing that are great and can be improved.

LIKES

1. I like the fast loader speed
2. The backhoe is GREAT! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
3. Tractor is built like a tank
4. Very easy to do 95% of the maintance
5. mower comes off easy and heavy duty
6. engine is nice and built "Kubota" tough
7. Kubota supplies a cap of the rear PTO..simple and NICE
8. Mower deck is heavy duty and the covers above the
spindles are nice
9. ROPS is easy to fold down (thank god)
10. It has (2) gas filter WOW and easy to get to
11. Can press the foot lever to move tractor without being on
it. I LOVE THAT. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
12. Backhoe is kind of easy to take off without hitting painted
surface
13. The financing is GREAT!!!!!!

Dislikes are:

1. The levers for the attachments tend to be hit when getting
off the tractor
2. The painted surfaces on the edge by your feet wear fast
3. Loader bucket seems very light or not a very think material
4. Backhoe rubber feet $160!!!!! WHAT..are you nuts? /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif
5. No glow plug heater light for auto shut off.
6. the part on the loader where the hose connect to
the "stick"control is a total mess to work on. Could be
designed a little better.
7. Rear Hyd fill is the most DUMBEST spot.
8. front lights suck when the loader is on
9. have to be in "N" to start (maybe can start in gear with
Brake on?)

Don't get me wrong I love the machine and there is no "perfect tractor" since everyone is different.

1 OH, where can I buy the rubber cheaper or is there so
to "retro fix"?
2. Also where can I buy the loader teeth?
3. Lastly were can I view pictures of "hooks" that I can weld or bolt to that loader? Some one had them of this site but I can't find them;

gsxr1100....The hydro fill pipe is not the easiest. I am getting a flexible filler type deal. They use them on car transmissions. NAPA or Wal-Mart have them.

Watch moving the machine by pusing the pedal while off the machine.....you might end up with a surprise!

My dealer didn't even ask if I wanted a chain hook on the bucket. He welded it on and painted it orange. It is great for using a short chain for pulling small stumps and trees. Also for dragging not so small stumps from the woods.

You are right about the paint...but I guess that comes with the territory.

Enjoy the machine.

Someone help my old fadin' memory, but didn't someone recently post a message with pictures about making his own rubber feet from an old tire and bolting them on? I seem to recall something like that that looked pretty good.

gsxr1100,
Agreed with you on most points as they relate to the bx tractor and loader (I have a bx2200). Some things though raise some concerns.................
Moving the machine while off of it may end up creating an open air addition to your garage. Same goes for starting in gear ( if you jumped the safety switch or had it fail). I tend to want to start or move the machine while standing beside it. It just seems so much easier than getting on and off. I keep stopping myself so that I don't get into that habit.
That one time that you slip, trip, or fall could be an O'GOSH that hopefully you can tell your grandkids about. I nail the brake and take it out of gear before I get off, and don't re-engage the hst until I'm back in the seat. After I forgot to pop the brake off and took off with it on I realized the torque these little puppies have and got a little more cautious. Same goes for stopping on hills. Nail the brake pedal, lock it, hst in neutral, (fel down if you have it on) and then get off. Very little chance of unintended movement with it out of gear and the fel down . Please don't think I'm getting on your case, I'm not trying to be a nag, but it only takes one time, 'ya know??
I've rambled on enough, but I have only one thing to add to the dislike list. The brake lock pedal rattles and gets pretty annoying. I keep finding my foot resting against it to shut it up. Other than that, it is one AWESOME little machine /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif.
FYI, the dealer should have the tooth bar. Costs around $275-$300.
Just my .02.
happy tractoring,
DaveL

Sorry, I don't quite understand this one. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif I thought the glow plugs were on only when the key was in the preheat position and there is a dash light to indicate this. Or have I totally missed the point.... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

rbarker- On my old deere and Ford (both early) 90's had glow plug indicator light that turned off when it was ok to start. I just feel that the BX does not have that and some users (maybe) myself will leve them on for alonger time that you need. It was not hurt anything but it makes them burn out sooner.

DaveL - You are correct on the raddle. It does it only sometimes (like the metal hood to).

Out of the very few things that "I" need to adjust to I LOVE the machine and if save much time and work. Next is Amsoil engine oil and gear fluid. I used them in my last tractors and the internals were great and clean. I will still use the Kubota SDT fluid though

seems like you are basically pleased with your purchase, i won't address all your dislikes, but the can;t start in grear is what they call SAVING YOUR LIFE. ALL MACHINES SHOULD NEVER EVER START WHEN THEY ARE IN GEAR,
all standard front lights suck, with the loader on. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Ah HA! I understand now! Thanks for clearing that up! This is my first diesel ever or I might have known that.
