I'm having problems with air in the bucket tilt cylinder on my 22. Dealer says its normal. Could you try this for me? With the tractor at about 1/3 throttle, curl the bucket up, then back down and hold till the air is purged, then back up and then down. Grab the lip of the bucket and see if you can raise it, and if so, how much. Do this both using the regular dump position and the quick dump position. On mine I'll have anywhere from 2" to 6" of free travel in the cylinder itself. Doesn't matter which dump position I use. Might be a little less using the quick dump posion. It is less of a problem at higher throttle positions but is still present to some degree. So is this "normal"?

I will check mine in the morning, however in exchange, I need you to check something on your BX22. Is it difficult to disconnect and reconnect the red coupling on the loader. I am having a hard time taking it apart and even worse time trying to get it back together. I think that this coupling is what is giving my machine hydraulic problems.... thanks The Junkman

Junkman

On my BX 22 the hoses can be difficult, but I have found that
after I shut the engine down I need to work the loader lever in all directions as well as lower the mower lift lever up and down to relieve all pressure on the hydraulic system. When this has been done the hoses come on and off without any undue pressure.

Hope this helps.

Junkman ----I also do the release hyd pressure but yes some of the couplings (the collars) are a pain to latch. It seems like I have to push or pull on the collar to make sure they lock in place. They do not lside on there own.

It is even worse under the loader control box!

GSXR1100...... it isn't the collars that I am having trouble with, but rather putting it back together. It seems that there is pressure in the line that is the problem. I have to push like heck to join them. thanks... Junkman

I also own a bx22 I have heard that temerature change can affect this. Like if you remove your loader when it is cool and you try to reinstall it when it is hot or warm the hydrolic fluid in the loader can expand and increase the pressure. I personaly have not had a problem reconnecting the quick disconnects to the loader. I have only removed it a couple of times. David.

Junkman- To you move the loader control in all directions? If so does the loader work ok when all hyd lines on? Just asking to see if the valve is sticking (inside).

Sir:

You have a regenerative loader control valve just like I have on my larger 5030 HSTC.

When you dump your bucket and push the joystick over to the far right with the engine at slower rpm, the cylinders empty themselves of fluid faster than the pump can refill them. That causes the "limp" effect.

I have the same scenario.

I don't particularly like the feature. Kubota told me the 4 way valve is designed for angling front mounted attachments like a power broom. Go figure.

the problem started after dumping some rocks..... the bucket wouldn't lift very quickly and the rapid dump wouldn't work at all. The curl was moving properly. All the lines were properly connected and I pulled on each of them to make sure that they weren't partially disconnected. I finally disconnected each of them and reconnected them one at a time. The only one that I had trouble with getting disconnected or reconnected was the red one. It was difficult to pull back the collar and difficult to pull it apart and putting it back together had the same problems.... pushing it into the female half and then getting the collar to seat. After putting everything back together, the bucket worked properly again. It hasn't failed since and that is in the past 3 work hours. When this problem started, the backhoe wouldn't work at all. I also moved the joy stick around to all positions to relieve any pressure in the system. Has me baffled as to what caused the system failure.. The dealer has no idea ether.... thanks The Junkman

I tried this on my BX 22 yesterday and found that the bucket was rock solid and all that I could get out of it was about 1/2" play..... Junkman
