Kubota BX22
When I bought my BX22, I chose turf tires over the standard bar ones. Mistake. Every time I get in the mud, or want to push with the FEL engaged on damp ground, the turfs slick up and spin. Got the tractor stuck this weekend cleaning out a creek that had damned up!

So I called around today for a set of spare BX22 wheels and bar tires. My local dealer was $ 775.00 a set, and Carver's quoted $ 525.00 DELIVERED to my door. That's a lot of price spread.

Before I buy from Carver's just thought I'd toss out a post to see if anyone had a set of used bar tires and wheels they wanted to sell. If you do, email me at drcollie@cox.net. I'm in Northern VA.

I could swear that folks have been buying the extra sets for closer to $300 in past threads...but I could be wrong about that!

I took delivery of my BX-22 with the turfs, but traded them back for the bar tires within weeks and haven't looked back. They don't mark the soil when mowing unless it's almost swamp-like (even the turfs mark it then), yet give great traction. I don't miss the turfs one bit!

every dealer that I got quotes from wanted $300 and that is what I paid for my extra set when I purchased the BX tractor. Go back to the selling dealer and ask him to order you a set when he has his next order of tractors coming in. I think that it costs more to order them as parts vs. extra item with a tractor shipment .... that is what has been said on here at different times.....

A couple months ago my dealer quoted something like $298 for a set of bar tires for my bx2200...I can remember several others here reporting that they paid $300 for a set of 4...

I would ask that dealer to check his prices again...and tell him what others have been buying them for...

Another reason why I dislike carver. He wanted over $2400 more for my BX22 then I dealer in a 100 mile RAD of my home. Never mind the nice shipping rate he supplied me with.

The normal price for these tires and rimes are around $330. I called 3 dealer and they are with about $20 of eachother.

Retail is 296. There still would be freight. Care to order?

Where did you buy the tractor? If it was from a local dealer, then I would ask him why such a difference between the price he quoted and what other dealers are selling them for. If you didn't buy from him, possibly he is trying to give you the hint that is the penalty for going out of the area to buy a tractor. There was a similar post about the purchase of the Kubota high output alternator and price a month or so ago.... depending on how it is ordered, depends on the selling price. There has to be more than one local dealer to you, so start calling each and see how you can do...... speak with sales instead of part department..... it might be the difference in price......

I don’t know where the tractor was bought, but if any dealer tried using blackmail tactics such as this with me, because I bought my tractor somewhere else, I would let him know there are plenty of other Kubota dealers willing to sell parts for the regular price. If he tries imposing such a penalty he won’t be making any profit from parts sales to me just as he didn’t make anything from the original sale of the tractor. I would sell the tractor and buy another brand before even considering paying double for a set of tires just because I didn’t buy the tractor from the dealer.
I bought my Kubota from my local dealer, but the idea of some dealer trying this is outrageous. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif
I feel better now. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

You might find this outrageous and egregious also, but it does happen because some dealers don't think with a logical mind. It happens all the time with automobiles. I was once traveling in another state when I had a problem with the electric windows in my car. They wouldn't go up at all.... the car was about 3 months old, so I stopped into a local dealer and explained the problem. His answer was "take it back to the selling dealer"..... Needless to say, that was about 300 miles away and not possible. It took a call to the manufacturer to resolve the problem and I had to take it to another dealer to get it resolved... The first dealer had a policy of not working on new cars that they didn't sell, no matter what the circumstances were. Didn't matter to him that I was from another state... There is no shortage of stupidity in business people..... every trade has their fair share...... even tractor dealers....
