BX22: Driveshaft Joint Grease

Dealer sent me plain old wheel bearing grease. Isn't there something else for CVs?

In a tractor my guess most any grease would be OK. I am sure a MC SUV would be more picky.

please use "moly" or a high pressure grease that will not "wash out" ... we use or machines in all kinds of weather.

Agree-black moly-disulfide grease is often used in automotive CV applications,an excellent choice.Kubota dealers have moly grease in Kubota branded tubes on display in the parts dept.Any auto parts store will have moly grease in 14 oz. grease gun tubes as well as CV joint grease in smaller squeeze tubes,moly or a blue-green CV grease.Either is OK.I use the black moly grease on everything with excellent results!Good Luck!

That's what I thought. (Kubota dealer sent me a huge tub of wheel bearing grease for this purpose. Go figure.) How about that blue/green "marine" grease?

Doc - high press black moly grease is far better than "marine" grease for dry land CV joints. Each type is designed for a specific purpose and marine is not designed for land-based CV joints. Besides black moly is very sticky, gets on everything and eventually ends up everywhere - at least everywhere you don't want. ha,ha

I ended up using specific CV joint grease (black moly) a parts guy took out of an auto CV joint rebuild kit for me. (I think the factory OEM grease that was in there was red.)
