Ok guys am I crazy or what? I set up my mower deck so it is all level and it mows pretty good. But i noticed if I set all of the deck wheels at the exact same notch the right front deck wheel sits lower than the rest of them. So i checked the deck again to see if there was something out of whack ...But it seems fine I measure the blades for ground clearance and its all level....mow with it....it seems level but that right front wheel is a good 1/2 inch lower than the rest...And if you kinda eyeball it it certainly seems the mount is lower. So I measured both front deck wheel mounts from the floor up and sure enough the right front is that much lower.......Is this normal???? Due to all the left turns you make during mowing? The only way I could get the deck wheel to set right is to move it up a notch from the rest. Any suggestions or enlightenment would be a great help. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Did I get a goofy deck? Thanks /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I will measure the rollers on my deck today and let you know results. I think I may have the same condition. Last week was the first time I mowed with my 60 inch mmm. The cut was excellent but I had a heck of a time getting the rollers adjusted correctly. I have them set higher than manual calls for. When I set them according to the manual they continually turn.

I was a little disappointed that the dealer did not adjust the deck when they installed it. all of the adjustments were way out of spec.

jlbota,
When I checked the setup on my 54" mmm the blades ended up level with the left rear lift arm a good 3/8 to 1/2" from the left upper deck stop. I fussed and fiddled to try and even the clearance out as the deck tends to bang against the stop with that much clearance. No joy though.
I guess it comes down to tolerances in the decks or some other factor /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif???

Well Thursday was the first time I mowed with mine and I was kinda in a hurry to get it done. I hadn't had a chance to really do any adjustments to it before then. So I just set the deck wheels pretty high and set the knob at 3.5 ......My lawn was scalped pretty bad in some places....on turns and on hills......So thats why I took the time to really adjust it and found the deck wheel issue.....I am pretty disappointed myself that my dealer didn't set this up!!!!! The BX wasn't exactly cheap. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

My yard isn't exactly a showcase /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif so I might not have noticed if there was some uneven cutting, but I mowed last summer (after July) and some this summer with no problems, so I assume the mower is set okay. However, I do have to put the front deck wheels up higher than the rear in order to keep them from constantly rolling. I'm sure some of the turning is of no issue as for too much wear since they are just hitting tall grass about to be mowed and not actually touching the ground.

My right front deck wheel is 1/2 inch lower than the other three. Wonder if it was intended to be that way or if Kubota has a problem with their alignment jig. Maybe the right front rides a little higher during operation due to the rotational torque of the spinning blades?

I have a lot of steep hills and I get an excellent cut from my deck.

Where are you setting your deck cutting height at? I set mine at 3.5 And where do you set your deck wheels in relation to the height you cut at? I am glad to know someone else checked their deck and its the same as mine.....I wonder if everyone else has this offset wheel or not.....I just thought maybe it had something to do with all the left turns you make while mowing or extra weight on that end??? I did set my deck height just a bit higher in the front than in the back and that seemed to help some. I just adjusted the front two bolts to 56 mm instead of the 48mm as the manual suggested.....At 48 mm the front end of the deck was much lower than the rear. Thanks for your input maybe someone else will chime in and let us know if their deck is like this too. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

My uneven mowing was very very noticable before I took the time to adjust the deck....I wasn't mowing a showcase lawn at the time either. But I had the deck set at 3.5 and it cutting so low in the turns it would go clear down to the ground ...It didn't look so good when I was done. I sure hope its fixed now. Other than that the BX sure wasn't a slacker it took all I gave it. I mowed some wet stuff and some thick stuff and it didn't miss a beat. I was very very surprised at how maneuverable it was for its size...It was much more nimble than my Sears lawn tractor. Overall I am happy with the machine....Just hope the mowing issue is fixed! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

At the moment I am cutting my grass at the 3.0 setting. In a month or so I will move it to 3.5 for the remainder of the summer.

As far as adjustments, I set everything according to the manual. I get an excellent cut even with all of the hills and uneven ground that I have. A lot better than the Wheel Horse that I had before the BX2200.
