My BX1800 Temp needle now goes into RED after 15 minutes of using the belly mower.

The Radiator & overflow have anti-freeze. The radiator, radiator filter, etc, are free of debris. I've been using since new in 2000 without a problem. Any ideas on what has happened?

Thanks.

Is it clean in between the fins on the radiator. Sometimes dust will pack into the fins and if you don't get a light and looks straight into them, you don't ever know that it is there.

Is the thermostat opening? The return to the radiator should get hot like the rest of the system. If it isn't, tap thethermostat housing to see if that will open it. Another possibility is that the water pump has stopped working. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Well, I hate to admit I missed the obvious, but you were right about the radiator fins being plugged.

I couldn't see the crud until I blasted it with the hose. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
