I understand you purchased the tractor. Congratulations. There was another thread on this and I just couldn't find it.

Yesterday, I was at a business called "Diesel Injection Specialists" and the shop manager said they had a Kubota with only 40 hrs on it with varnished up injectors. It was year old and had sat on the dealer's lot and the injectors got varnished up when the diesel dried out for the year of no use.

Apparantly this is not a problem with yours, but it may be something to keep an eye on.

IF this is the one at Burris in Waukegan, be aware that it has been sitting outside, unprotected, the entire time. Just a word to the wise.

( I just looked at a BX1500D today. The dealer states that the tractor was delivered to him on Nov. 04. Looks clean. It has obviously faded some but still looks good. Nice waxing might clear some of that up. The plastics do not appear to have suffered much UV damage. The thing started right up. Ran it for about 10 minutes. Mow deck seemed a bit noisy but that might just be the nature of the beast. BX1500D with 4.5 hrs., 54" MMM, LA181FL FEL and AG tires for $9,430. I requested a complete fluid/filter change and lube if I take delivery. I wondered about moisture and corrosion after sitting and not running over the course of a year and a half. That added $325. Still a little over $800 less than a brand new one out of a crate. When taxes are added it is about $1,100 less. What do ya'll think? )What's the break down on the price.?
Kubota dealer here has been offering new BX1500 and MMM for #7750.00.

( I mistyped. It is Nov. 03 which would be 1 1/2 years. My mistake. I'm guessing this particular 1500 is suffering from 'upgraditis". People come in looking for a 1500 then tell the dealer "while I'm here quote me a 1830 or 2230 just for comparisons sake" and viola, they convince themselves that the cost to upgrade is not that much and the 1500 is bypassed, again. But thats just my theory. )

I'm not so sure about my faith level of your theory.
Somehow I don't feel Kubota would keep on producing a model that takes a year and a half to unload.
Secondly I believe the popularity of the Bx 1500 is much greater than that.

I don't want to sound like money is no object, but for $1100.00 I would opt for a "Fresh out of the crate" unit. I hate buying something a lot of peole have crawled all over, started up and reved up cold, Etc, Etc.

I always look at the hour meter or odometer on a vehicle before making a purchase. How many times have you heard someone say, "Yea I test drove that new ++++ and it really hauls a--!" Now would you want that vehicle after the new tight engine has had the crap reved out of it? I wouldn't. Just my opinion.
