I am looking at a bx 1500. I was wondering if anyone knows someone that has one and how much they like it. I was looking into the bx2230 but a liitle out of the price range. Is there a major difference besides the extra cylinder and 7 Horse power. I have 2 acres to mow and looking at the loader to clear snow out of the driveway. Thanx for any help

The 1500 should handle your needs and thensome.

I called three dealers last week. Best price on a 1500 w/a 54" mower was around $8400. I didn't ask about a loader, but the hydraulics that would run a loader or any front quick-attach implement was another $1300. Good luck. It seems like a nice little tractor.

I've got a 1500 and I love it. For it's size it's a work horse. One of the other differences is that you can get a 60" MMM on the 2230 and only a 54" in the 1500. I've used the FEL to clear snow, move piles of mulch, top soil, and a big pile of clay and rock. My wheel barrow is hanging in the shed collecting dust. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'm not answering your question, but I just bought a BX1500 with 54" mower, Front end loader, ballast box, utility trailer for $10,295 for my whopping 1/3 acre. Plan on moving in a few years to a place with more acreage. Pick it up Saturday!!

I don't know what you are are talking about with $1300 in extra hydraulics. Is that true? It doesn't sound right. $8400 is about right for the standard tractor with mower. I'm fairly Positive that the only hydraulic option is a 4-position valve so you can run a front-mounted snowblower. Otherwise you're stuck with standard hydraulics which will run the FEL just fine. Maybe I don't know what I'm talking about, though I do own a BX1500 with 54" deck and FEL.
