perhaps, i should have selected a screen name like "bxboob," instead of shrekbelly? . . . but i need assistance in the steps required to disconnect the lower 3ph arms from the weight box. there is no mention in tractor manual.
would someone please explain the steps to me? thank you for your time and attention. shrekbelly

You have to loosen the stabilizers so that you can swing the lift arms out and off of the lower pins of the weight box after removing the retaining or "lynch" pin. Then remove the pin from the top link and that should be all you need to do. Sometimes you can put the box down on some 2X4's because it might not quite touch the ground when all the way down.

Better yet, lower the weight box onto a standard mover's dolly so you can manipulate it once on the ground. Makes removing the lower arms from the box's pins much easier.

Mine is filled with sand bags. I unload them from the box before removing it which makes it a whole lot easier to wrestle with.

Think...think a...think a...think ah...darn it! What's that think you're supposed to do before trying to move 700# of sand by hand?

Think AHEAD!!! Wow! Look at you go! You must be a rocket surgeon.

Honest to goodness, that's a good idea that I'm not sure I'd have done. I'd have just poured a whole pile of stone in there and said 45 seconds later, "OK, how to get it out now..."

This is what I do. Only other thing I can add is that I use a crow bar between the box and lower link ends to "pursuade" the arms to come off the pins. Sometimes a little WD-40 doesn't hurt either. A quick hitch would be nice for this application, just don't have one ..... yet!
