BX Tire Alternatives?

I put them on last Friday, but had to travel for business this week and didn't really get to do much with them. (Was in Orlando, but unfortunately, I was "inside" all week instead of enjoying the fine sunny weather...and it looks like it's planning to rain here in SE-PA all weekend !)

However, they seemed just fine to me when I drove up the hill to "drop off" the hoe so I could put the 3pt back on after making the tire change. (Used the hoe and FEL to lift the machine instead of a jack--and yes, I did put support under it for safety) The tires are "bumpier" than the turfs, but not obnoxious. It's definately noticable on hard surfaces. The think about the bar-turfs on the BX is that they are very wide as compared to the ag tires on many machines. They will definately "float" when needed, but give good grip.

When I thought about how my wife and I use the tractor, 75% plus is NOT mowing, but using the FEL or other general land-maintenance activities. These tires just make sense.

Jim, just so other folks don't try to buy "bar-turfs" the R1 tires for the BX that you bought and which are standard equipment on the BX are in fact Bar (Ag) R1's and not "bar turfs". We have had that discussion before, not being a smarty pants but just don't want folks trying to buy "bar turfs" when what they really want are the bars. J

Understood...my dealer calls them "bar-turf" and specifically "corrected" me when I called them Ag tires! Oh well, what ever they really are, they are a good match to the machine!
