BX oil change.....

/ BX oil change..... #41
If I have an engine that allows for filling the filter beforehand I do so . But either way I always make sure my oil is warm and well circulated before doing a change . That way I'm fairly sure there's at least a coating of oil before restarting the engine . On my 6.0 deisel the filter is on top of the block . there's no way to pre fill it . But it fires right up after an oil change . As the injectors are run by engine oil , there must not be too much air in the oil system . John

I have given that a passing thought on my 6.0 stroke. How do the oil pressure operated injectors work to start the engine after you have drained the oil? I would guess that is what the quart reported to remain in the engine after draining the crankcase is for.

you will still have some % of oil in the line on the 6.0. When I had my PS I sometimes filled oil filter and sometime not. It would not hurt anything either way.
