BX Garden Plow?

Boy would I like to run a single plow with my BX2660. I think it has enough power, but it sits so dang low. My garden needs to be turned over, especially in the fall. I've only had a walk behind rototiller for the past 35 years and that's getting to be a lot of work for this old man. Do any of you BX owners plow?

Pretty sure Milkman does.

I plowed with my BX, using a middle buster but recently gave up on its limitations. I also needed to dig potatoes and cultivate. Wrote a review here of the experience of moving to a B2320, if you have an interest.

Yes I do with my bx 2230.use a leinbach 1 bottom plow ,20" spacing, works well, tractor can lift it well.They are not easy to find used but new if you do a search should find some new. I use my R-4 tire's when the soil conditions are not to wet it pulls it fine.If wet you will struggle for traction.Bar tires would be better for this but for me most of my use does not require them.Trying to find a small disc 5ft is a real challenge but with some effort you will find one.Drag harrows are fairly easy to find even old 3 sections can be had for a very good price take one section off and your all set.My bx will pull 2 section's very well.You will spend some seat time for sure this way.A rear mounted tiller would also work fine. happy gardening.

I got this plow from Milkman. Traded him a like new Boxblade for it. He said he'd pulled it with a BX but I've never used it yet.
I've pulled a tiller with a BX and a Boxblade with the teeth down quite a bit with a BX.

I can rip my dense hard clay with a ballasted subsoiler on the BX. It helps if there is a tad of moisture in it (it turns to adobe brick when dry). If you have good soil that is already root free and under cultivation, I think you would not have much problem. Here's my ballasted subsoiler:

dandy idea with ballasted subsoiler. Gives you a bit more traction when needed by just lifting with quarter inching lift. :thumbsup:

:thumbsup:Thanks Gents. Being stuck indoors for the most part, except for pushing snow is getting to me. I've followed your evolution to the B2320 already BP and am envious of your garden successes. Thanks for the pictures and your experiences to the rest of you. What a dilemma! A plow.....or a new model B. I think I'll give the BX a chance. Over the years I've developed raised beds,mulched pathways and deer fencing. All that would have to be rearranged to make a pass. Arghgggg. :licking: Someday I might even learn or get geared up to post pictures too.

Here you go, this is the Allis Chalmers plow that I fitted a 3 point hitch for the BX, traded the IH plow to John, might have to go trade him out of it, could test drive the 1140.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

With the snow we've had this year I might have more use for some type front blade/snow blade for the RTV1140 than the plow. You could hook it up before driving the 1140. Something/blade hooked to a Reese hitch. You know the way.
