Kubota BX2230
Well tomorrow's the day. I get my new BX 2230 delivered.

I'd like to share a dealer story if you don't mind me taking up bandwidth.

As I was shopping around for a tractor, the one constant message from this board was to be comfortable with your dealer, the dealer makes all the difference, etc., etc., etc. Well let me tell you about my dealer and why I feel good about my choice.

First, he matched the lowest price I had found elsewhere. Probably no big deal because it led to a sale, but there's more. Yesterday, Kubota had a major computer glitch in their credit department, making it impossible for the dealers to electronically file credit applications. They had to revert to faxing the paperwork, which slowed everything down, since the clerks on the other end had to then manually process everything. Consequently, my dealer does not have formal approval on my credit application. I get the call this afternoon full of apologies and was expecting to hear that the delivery would be delayed until Kubota worked through all the issues and formally approved my credit application. But that's not what happened.

Instead, my dealer told me that they would be delivering as planned tomorrow, but they would probably not have the necessary paperwork available to sign. Would I mind stopping by the dealership sometime down the road and sign all the necessary forms??? Unbelievable.

Now I'm an honest individual and would not think twice about not doing following through with the deal, but, quite frankly, I did not have a prior relationship with this dealer. In this day and age, where con artists sometimes abound and make life rough for the rest of us, it was refreshing to find such trust.

Bottom line, I"M GETTING MY TRACTOR tomorrow!!!!!!

LIFE IS GOOD!!!!!

Fill in your profile and let us know who this is who's taking care of you. We don't bash the bad dealers but KUDOS for the good ones are allowed.

I second the other posters. Please let us know who the dealer was or at least the general area where he is. Back when I was shopping, I found a great deal of variation in how I was treated at the different dealerships. The good dealers like you describe deserve our support. Enjoy the new tractor, and remember to come back with some pics!

Thanks for the responses. Point taken about praising dealers that take care of you, which is why I posted in the first place. Being new to the site, I wasn't sure if that was allowed so I didn't mention names at the time.

However, my favorite dealer is Rocky Mount Tractor in Rocky Mount, VA. I visted a number of dealers in Virginia while shopping, but these folks are the best. Great folks who don't hard sell and don't act like you're a bother even if you're asking stupid questions (which I probably was). I would highly recommend them.

Chip,

Welcome!!! Glad to see you are happy with your purchase and your dealer.

One problem with being happy with your dealer. You will keep coming home with more attachments every time you visit.

Last week I stoped by my dealer and I am soon to be the owner of a BushHog Tiller.

This week I went in with a friend of mine and he is buying a BX-23.

Enjoy your new machine You will wonder how you ever lived without it.

We're so used to car dealers that Tractor dealers are often a breath of fresh air (usually preferable to a breath of dairy air, but that another story). They delivered my tractor before I gave them any money. The credit was approved several days later. No one seemed the least bit bothered by that. This was a country, mostly ag type, dealer. It's a good feeling to be trusted.

I've observed that untrustworthy companies are the most likely to distrust customers.

It's great that you found a dealer that you trust and that trusts you. Good luck with your new machine and have a good day tomorrow!

When I was buying I looked around a lot.

My dealer ( Ahearn's Equipment in Spencer MA) was outstanding. Tim is the kind of guy you'd want
as a friend and neighbor. When I need anything I go there, and I've sent quite a few
people there that have purchased machines.

There are two tractor dealers in town and their starving to death...
Both are less than upright dealers..

If I'm treated well I'll let 100 people know... If I'm treated poorly I'll let 1000 people know...

Regards,
Chris

That's a good dealer you've got there. You're story's similar to mine except I'm not getting mine, but it's for a different reason. My dealer called me yesterday to let me know about the credit lines being down, and they'd get it completed anyway. But, he also was calling because a part was not shipped with my loader, going to have to wait on that. Also, they didn't have my box blade in stock, that'll get delivered in a week or so. Still think they're a pretty good dealer, they gave me my price /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif!

(I am jealous though, would be great to have my BX2230 for the weekend!!)

Well you will have a lot of fun pushing that red dirt around. I used to spend a lot of time in that area, my uncle had a place on Smith Mountian Lake, Moneta side toward the dam. There are a lot of good people in business around there. Glad to hear you found some of them. I had the same kind of experience with my dealer.
