BX cockpit is small

I went to my dealer last night and drove a BX23TLB -What a nice machine- But the cockpit was tight for a big guy like me. I'm 6'3" and well over 200 lbs. It felt like I was in my wife's Subaru. I can get the seat back far enough to have good access to the pedals but I have to lean forward to grab the wheel. Not a good position for a guy with a funky back.

Anyone else have this problem? Are there any solutions? A bigger wheel?

I also drove a B7610, very,very nice sat just like my truck.

Check out Kiotis!! I would recommend Ck20 or Ck30. Yea I understand about the BX. I thought I was on my craftsman lawn mower. When I took one for a test ride.

No problem here with me. I am 6' 2" and 194 lb.

I know the seat on my BX22 is, well, sucks.

I had the same impression the first time I sat on my bx1500. Very awkward and tight. I'm 6'1" and 250#, and was told by my chiropractor that I have the back of an 80 yr old. All I can tell you is that after 30 hours operation, I got used to it a lot easier than I thought I would. I still don't like the way that I seem to slide forward off the seat on downslopes though. I don't know if that's unique to the bx or typical of most subCUTS. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I am 6'4" and over 200 lbs. I have found the BX seating position to be about middle of the road. When compared to other tractors I have operated over the years (some much larger, some about the same size) it is better than some and worse than others. I am blessed in that I do not have any physical or medical problems that make sitting on a tractor for long periods of time painful or unpleasant.

I myself am 6' 4" and 275 lbs. I actually find that I am quite comfortable on my BX2200. I also have a Curtis cab on mine and don't have any comfort issues. I also have 2 crushed discs in my back that don't give me any trouble from being on the tractor at least.

I'm 6' & 220lbs and although I'm pretty comfortable mowing 2.5 acres at a wack, having a telescoping & tilting steering wheel would make the BX23 a VERY comfortable machine.

I think the reason is because the reversable seat raises it a couple inches too high and away from the steering wheel. Move it too close and it puts your leg in an ackward cramp inducing position.
While mowing I've found the proverbial sweet spot where I place my left hand at the bottom of the steering wheel for control and place my right hand on the locked down FEL joystick as a hand rest. And even tho I could mow ( and do) for hrs in this position, it could be better!

As far as the treadle pedal & the rest of the controls, they fit & workout pretty well for me.

If'n I was to do any major modifications to my BX23, the 1st would be to modify the ROPS to fold down a full 180 degrees and 2nd would be to fab up a telescoping & tilting steering wheel assembly. Yepper thats the ticket /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I noticed that you have replied to a couple of posts in the Kubota forum asking about Kubota's and your response is always to tell them to look at Kioti's.

There is a Kioti forum here, perhaps you have accidentially bookmarked the Kubota forum by mistake.

I'm also a big guy and recently have posted on just this subject. On that size tractor, I suggest you go sit on the other orange K tractor!

I"m 6'2" 230 lbs I think my BX 23 is quite roomy. This is very apparent when I am getting on the Garden tractor, after being on the BX.

P.S. I am missing 1 disk and have 2 others that give me problems.
