Y'all may have noticed I like the BX. You may have at one time visited the "other" site populated by the "my JD garden tractor is better than your Murray" and "everything older is better" crowds and thus noticed that forum is highly anti-Kubota. Recently a thread concerning the BX and the new JD stuff had a post from a Mike of country@yahoo that was titled "Beware the Orange" under the string "New Deere Models". This post tries to convince folks that there is something (unspecified) wrong with the BX and that it is not built with "old" Kubota quality and that new Kubota tractors are priced cheap because they are more cheaply built than the JD stuff--ie--lower quality. That JD tractors cost more not just because of the lovely green color but that they are somehow superior as a result of their high prices.
To anyone considering a Kubota BX or any Kubota for that matter you may consider that post as an attempt to justify another's purchase decision by creating a nonexistent problem with the BX. Yes, there is the little stuff, the sticky pedal, the tight on large implements cat 1, the rattling hood at idle and etc but there are no serious or meaningful engine, transmission, hydraulic, frame/chassis problems that would lead anyone to think that the BX is cheaply built or likely to wear out sooner than any other small Kubota tractor. Unlike companies, JD included, which buy brand names and rebadge and then sell or even worse purchase a brandname and sell a cheap substitute (examples--such as MTD with Cub Cadet lawn tractors--AMF with Harley motorcylces etc) counting on brand loyality to make a quick profit, Kubota builds--Kubotas--and that says alot. TresCrows,

I was looking for the site that you were referring to and haven't found it yet. I would like to find this site to see what you are talking about and the way I'm sure you are rebutting the whole crazy mess with pride. Thanks

"Like" not the word I would have selected for your BX passion. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

I hope you have learned your lesson visting the "other" sites. Don't let the %$#@#$%# get you down. Stick with TBN and your blood pressure will go way down. Keep up the good work as Exhalted High Priest of BXdoom, your posts make my day. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif Is this an election year?

What does it matter what anyone else thinks about something you have? You bought it, probably like it, and are making the payments on it. The futility of these color wars amaze me.

TresCrows,

Geez, give it a rest!! Not to label you as a zealot for the BX, but it's getting close. /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif/w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif/w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

I think your passion for these machines is well understood. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Al,

I can't remember which Senator it was - but they used to have a plaque in their office that read "Non Illegitimi Carborundum". Latin for "Don't let the b******s wear you down"!!!

I've often thought of having a similar plaque made for myself. With most of the politically correct folks these days never having studied Latin I should be safe hanging it in my office too.

Raptor, this is an older thread regarding a posting on another site concerning unspecified ailments with Kubota tractors. It was actually intended for one individual who asked me about the thread from the "other" site and then I lost his e-mail address. I knew he also frequented TBN because I told him about TBN so I posted it here in hopes he would read it and others who might have read that thread at that site. To avoid involving him in the "color" wars as you describe them I will not give his name. Anyway, I am not sure why this thread has taken off at this time--let's go back to the Bashing thread and let this one die now--as I said it was meant really only for one person--I should have made that more clear in the orginal post or clear in that post since it was not clear at all. The "give it a rest" could apply to quite a few when ever the "which tractor should I buy" question comes up on the Kubota section and it gets the usual green responses. Thing is--all of this is actually helpful to many new tractor purchasers --well a lot of it anyway--even if it get's tiring to old timers.
Let's dump this thread and get back to the Bashing thread because I need the mysteries of the universe solved and we got a good headstart on it there. Let's go for the all time record! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
I would also like to point out for the record I did not start the bashing thread or quite a few of the others that go this route. That I do not give the "tractor PC correct" response to them is what get's me in trouble with some of you guys. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif
