BX air filter bracket ... geez!

Well, it took 150 hours for it to break. Kindof annoying but, it was nice to have the old acid stomach kick in when I heard that horrible clatter from under the hood.
From the looks of the rubber liner, it must have been ready to let loose for a while. I just used a razor blade to peel the liner back far enough so I wouldn't catch it on fire when I welded it back up.

I don't don't much like welding sheet metal with my ancient tombstone but that's what I have. Had to pull a nice ale to steady my hands after a morning of coffee and copenhagen. I just kinda washed the inside of the bracket with 3/32 6011 @ 60 amps then applied a couple of heavy tacks to the outside. Dang, my gray glossy paint didn't match to well.

Contact your selling dealer for a replacement. That way, when it breaks again, and it will break again, you will have a spare. It is covered under the warranty. I am on my 2nd one, original and warranty one... /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
