What your noticing with the zip code lookup is a function of that database. I have an application that uses the same thing, it uses some trig functions and long/late data based on the centering of zip codes. Its not nessesarily going to be your 3 nearest dealers.

Thanks for the response. So far, M&B has been acting like they are the only game in town. It may be worth the 25 or 30 miles extra drive to try Chappell.
 Colebrook is an extra 3 hour drive for me so that's out.

I have written several too. That database with with the latitude/longitude values of the location of the post office for a given zip code is available to purchase from several brokers. The post office sells it to the brokers who in turn offer it for sale in several different database formats.

My personal experience with MB has never been good. For some reason, I do stop by from time to time to try to buy some parts, kick some tires, etc. They always dissappoint me. I drove up there, with the bad parts in hand, and ordered parts for my finish mower 3 months ago. After two weeks, I called, they gave me a line of BS, bottom line, they forgot (or couldn't be bothered) to order them. 3 weeks later, get a message, the parts are in. Drive 25 miles (each way) again, wrong parts. They say they'll order the right ones. Still waiting. Last week, I went to the local Massey dealer who also sells Land Pride, got a call within a few days, parts are in.

In my opinion, don't waste your time at MB Tractor. I think if you do a search, you'll find little good said about them by other posters.

This is disappointing to read, and thank you for posting your concerns about MB. I am in the [visit/talk/tire kick stage] as I narrow down my choices for a new Kubota. I hope to deal with MB, but I will certainly be very alert to these types of issues when we finally get into more serious discussions.

Again, thanks for the heads up.

The few times I have been to MB in Plaistow I've always gotten the "we're god and your not" attitude from the sales and parts people. If you are not buying they have no interest in you. I never get that from Chappell, maybe because they are a family owned dealership and have been there over 50 years.

Whatever you decide, you should at least go to Chappell in Milford and get a quote even if it's just to keep MB honest.

As always your mileage may vary.

I've had decent luck with MB over the years. Their prices may not be the cheapest but they've had what I needed for my Kubota in stock and their service department did a good job and even fixed recall items without me asking.

Not to discount the experiences of others, just to provide another opinion. And by all means go several places for quotes if you are able!

Bob, glad to hear you've done well there. I have no axe to grind with MB, just can't ever seem to be satisfied. I'm very happy with my snowmobile dealer, my camper place, and my motorcycle dealer is great, so I don't believe its because I'm difficult to please. I agree with the MadRef, I always seem to get the cold shoulder. Having said that, they sure move a lot of units, so some people must be happy with them. I do believe you would have to work hard to spend more on a tractor than they will try to charge you.

Well, someone's gotta pay for all those fancy trucks and modern showrooms!;) :D

I'm in Mass, and checked out MB over the phone. Based on that conversation, in which they seemed thoroughly uninterested in selling me a tractor, I certainly won't be buying anything from them - why put them to the trouble?
