BX 2380 hard to start less than 100 hours

My BX2380 always started right up with the throttle at idle, never a problem. Then out of the blue it cranks and cranks and won't start. I have to push the throttle to 50% and then it cranks a fair bit slowly starts firing like on 1 of the 3 cyclinders and takes several seconds to fully start. Once started it runs smooth as silk.

I was thinking glo plugs but my Kubota dealer says no way they are needed at less than 100 hours. I performed a FULL service including both fuel filters, air filters, engine and HST oil and filters. No difference still having a hard time starting. Is it possible to foul glo plugs? I may just go ahead and replace them. I have run 2-3 tanks of fuel through it since it started this, same fuel I put in my F350 Chevron.

Any ideas?

I also tested the glo plug electrical with my multi meter, I have power to all 3.

Glow plugs rarely go bad.

I would make sure there isn't corrosion causing high impedance. You may also want to take a current draw as well.

In Battle Ground it should start w/o glow plugs almost as fast as with. At least my 25 does. I would think it is some thing else. Check your air cleaner. I read all the problems folks post here n there low use machines. I have over 1500 hrs on my 8 year old BX and have never had any of these problems. Am I living right or what. Maybe the BXs thrive on hard year round use.

Here's another clue, it seems to start easier with a full tank of fuel vs half a tank. Fuel pump? Both filters have fuel in them but maybe the pump is weak? I doubt the fuel pump though because once its started it runs fine. Seabee all filters have been replaced.

if you bought it new it should still be in warrenty.

Yes its under warranty, the dealer says 2-3 weeks before they can even look at it and $100 charge for pickup and return so if I can fix myself all the better.

Have you tried removing the fuel cap and starting it? Maybe the vent is clogged.

No but its worth a shot. It really seems to be a temp related thing. After I run the tractor for a while and its at operating temp it will start. But if I let it cool down a bit, say half way, still quite warm, it struggles to start. Does the BX have fuel injectors?
