BX 2230 review

First thanks to everyone for all their help and insite. This forum is great, and as a member of many forums regarding various topics this by far is the most "helpfull" and the most proffessional.

A little background info to qualify my review.

I purchased a new house with about 2 acres of lawn to mow. Was ding so with a 26hp cub cadet 50 inch deck box store lawn mower. I am also the owner of a Kubota L3400 HST but its really too big to do any mowing.

Tired of getting the crap beat out of me mowing and taking 2 hours+ to mow.

Tried a zero turn, loved the spead and agility but for 4k it was another throw away lawn mower.

So I pulled the trigger on a 04 bx2230 with 60 inch deck and 134 hrs on it. Great shape, nice and shiny still. I had them put a new seat on (which is still uncomfortable (leans too far back) better than the one that was on it but still sucks.

I cant believe how much I like this, very quiet, HST works SOOO much smoother than my big L3400, Very fast, I can mow as fast as I can drive. Takes lawn bumps much better and more comfortable than cub.

To anyone considering these do not hesitate!

Did you get the warranty replacement seat or just a new one of the same design? I have an '05 BX2230 and bought a warranty replacment seat last year. The one all the '07 BX's were elligible for (et al) and it solved all my back problems. However, I wouldn't agree that it leans too far back as much as the bottom was leaning too far forward. This, I think, caused excessive spinal chord vibration. Granted, I am very short and find leaning back presents my having my arms outsretched at an uncomfortable distance. Perhaps I am never really leaning back, anyway.

I believe I got the replacement seat. It says Kubota on it, its a little shorter in the back and a little more upright.

Seat is comfortable but if sitting with my back against the seat my arms do not reach the wheel. If I move the seat foward my knees are hitting the console and its very uncomfortable. Need to get something different, they should have more adjustability built into these things.
