BX 2230 3 point hitch won't raise

Have a BX 2230, when I parked it at the end of last season the 3 point hitch was working fine. Was getting it all ready to use this season and the 3 point hitch initially would only raise very slowly (and kind of stuttering / jerky), now it won't raise at all. Hydraulic fluid is at the correct level. The speed control knob under the seat doesn't seem to make any difference, in any position from one end of the range to the other. Tractor RPM doesn't seem to have any effect either.

Where do I start ?

* UPDATE. If I work the steering back and forth, or at full left or right travel, the 3 point hitch starts working ??? (slowly). I was able to raise it up by messing with the steering end to end .. how in the world are they related ? Also, is 90 wt gear oil the correct fluid to fill the @ the right front axle check point ?

Check to make sure your hoses are correct if you've taken the loader off.

First thought was the same that some how the hoses got reversed. Moving on, I would be checking all my hydraulic lines because it sounds like air in the system.

Also, is 90 wt gear oil the correct fluid to fill the @ the right front axle check point ?

Kubota UDT (expensive stuff!) or 80/90 wt. gear oil.

Not sure why but it's just started working again on it's own.
