Hello,

First post here....

I have a quote from my local dealer (IL) for a BX 2200, 60" MMM, PTO powered 3 bag grass catcher, 211 FEL, 5" rear blade, for $14,430. Is this a decent price?

Question1: If I use the grass catcher will I still be able to pull a trailer? My understanding is that installation/removal of the grass catcher is a 2-man job so I don't want to do this anymore than necessary.

Question2: I'm a big guy with long legs. The only drawback to the BX 2200 is that the seat doesn't quite go back far enough for total comfort. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a way to get the seat back further?

Question3: Do you find the (for lack of a better term) gas pedal cradle thingamabob comfortable? I find my older Snapper version is easier to use.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Hoss,

I'm not sure what the grass catcher goes for, but that price seems pretty reasonable.

Question 2: If you flip the seat you'll see a metal "stop" that you can loosen and rotate out of the way, so that you can slide the seat back another inch or two. I'm 6'3" with fairly long legs, and I find the BX fine for me.

Question 3: After you get used to the boomerang HST pedal, my guess is that you'll love it. For loader work (going forward and backward often), it's terrific. It takes some time to get used to it. When I'm mowing, I just have my heel on the deck (as opposed to on the bottom, or "reverse" side of the pedal). When I'm doing loader work, I have my whole foot on the pedal.

Hoss,

I cannot comment on your area, but in general it does vary by region. I had a quote for a BX2200 w/60"MMM, LA211 FEL, Rear Ballast Box, Grass Catcher, Engine Block Heater Bar or Turf tires for $13,800 from out of state (out of NY that is). I actually ended up buying a BX1800 with same setup from this dealer.

As for the grass catcher, I have had mine off 2 times now and I can do it myself, but it is somewhat difficult. For more information, see my post in owning/operating titled BX Grass Catcher. If I knew how to attach link to the post I would

Hope this helps

I have a BX2200 witha curtis cab on it. I am 6'4" and don't have any issues with my height as far as being comfortable. I leave the cab on year round and have used the tractor at times for over 4 hours straight and still been comfortable. I have the FEL, 48" box scrapper, and a 42" tiller. As for the boomerang pedal, I am quite comfortable with it and had no problem getting used to it. It is very handy when doing a lot of loader work.
