Has anyone had a problem with the BX-series getting stuck in low gear? I can shift from high gear to neutral without any problems, but once I'm in low, I stay in low. I have to stop, get off the tractor, lift the seat and play with the shift mechanism to get it to neutral. It's a real pain when moving loads over a distance.

I have over 110 hours on my BX-22 and LOVE it /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif, with this one exception. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif I'd appreciate any help.

I have had the same issue, but I am able to get it to shift if I rock back and forth with the hst pedal.

jds, my BX-22 did that a couple of times when it was pretty new. Once it gets a little worn & lubed it will work better. I used a can of liquid wrench - - lifted the seat & sprayed it over the shift mechanism. I think I had to do that on a couple of occassions - - no real problems since. I will say, however that that shift mechanism looks flimsy, although it does work OK.

Like Tdog, I also had good results from spraying everything with "oil in a can." Don't remember what I used...

TWo weeks ago I could not get the BX out of gear. Even getting off and pushing back and forth did not do it right away. I lubed everything real good, and now it is smooth as silk again and I have no complaints at all.

It is amazing the difference a little spray lube of some type makes. Same thing with the position control on my B2910. It was getting real stiff. Lubed it a couple times, let it sit overnight, and it loosed up and works like new again.

It doesn't seem like it should make much difference if you look at the linkage and so on, but it sure seems to.

By the way, I only have about 85 hours on my BX...

Most of the time it is just a bit of sand or dirt in the shift linkage,
WD-40 or a squirt with a water hose will fix it.
500+ hours and it has happened every time I move sand around or rake rocks

Thanks for the input. I have been moving alot of dirt, stumps, etc. the past few weekends. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'll give it a shot or two of WD-40 this weekend and see how it goes.

If I didn't have to work during the week, I'd give a go tomorrow! Well, gotta pay for that tractor somehow.
