Ended up taking my BX battery out to charge it up, when I replaced it I noticed how close the terminals were to the hold down. I know the hold down has a rubber strip on it, as well as a cover over the positive cable, but are there any reports of the terminals shorting out? With the bolts clocked to the rear of the tractor, there is less than a 1/32" between the hold down and the clamps.

That would be great. I also planned on taking a picture of mine tonight to show the clearance. Mine does have an aftermarket battery installed. Perhaps the PO did not get the correct frame size or post location.

Mine is the same way on my BX22. Been that way since new and have not had a problem. Yet, anyway. Makes one wonder though.

I did not get a pic but mine is like yours. Looked like I noticed the problem because I left my "up" just a little so they did not touch
