I finally got to put the little 1500 to work last weekend. I had to help cut up and move around some downed trees. We had a tree partially hung up on another, so I thought I would give it a push with the BX. The ground was soft loamy covered with grass so I had a good grip. LOw range, 4WD, wide open throttle. I got the bucket up to the tree and gave her the beans. The tree moved a little bit and there I sat, I thought maybe the tires were spinning and digging in but that was not the case. The motor was working but there was not enough power to the wheels to even spin the tires. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif I wouldn't have thought a whole lot about it but later in the day we dragged a log out of the brush in "reverse" that was almost a big as that tree with no problems. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I would have thought this little thing could dig itself in, right up to the axles if you gave it a chance. It will spin the tires on and dig in on my gravel driveway.
Am I expecting to much out of this little brute or does anyone think I might have a hydraulic problem? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
Only 20 hours on the machine.

Thanks Guys

Could have been a lot of things....
Was the BX in LOW 4x4?
Was the BX at full throttle?
Were you pushing the tree against the tree it was in? No too many tractors can push two trees over.
Did you consider hooking a chain to the base of the tree and pulling it from the other tree?

The tractor should have spun and spun on the terrain you talked about.

Going by your description, I suspect that you may have been in high range. If you were in low range you may have applied too much speed by pushing the hydro pedal to the floor. I have to keep reminding myself that the hydro pedal is a speed control and not a gas pedal. The more speed you apply the less power you have to the wheels.

Yep I have to agree with my esteemed collegues that you were not in low range. Ive done the same thing on my BX. Brad

Bin there done that, he problemly was in low. I have stalled out my bx many times. If you press the peddle too fast the pressure relief lets go, then there is little pressure to transmission. Press peddle slowly, that may help. This worked for me.

Also, with my BH on the back, and the added pressure of the load on the loader the tires get extra traction and my tractor will not spin the tires..
