Bx 1500 rear blade

I Need some help figuring out what kind of rear blade I need for my bx 1500. I would like to get a 60" blade, but I need to be able to raise it high enough, I was wondering of the standard 60" blade at tractor supply will work. The blade will be mainly used for snow removal

my .02 cents.....As a newbie, when I bought the BX2660, the lightest, cheapest blade seemed to be adequate. But as it turned out, I traded it in for a heavier one (both 60 inches). The heavier one could cut into dirt, gravel etc. better, as well as having tilt, offset and a bigger cutting edge. Me thinks that your BX1500 would lift either one to equal heights. For pushing/pulling snow only, the light one would probably work just as well assuming the mold board was of equal height. ..... OK ... you snow belt people....chime in...those without a blower that is.

Zlock....the blade is off right now, but I'm guessing it is about 18-20 inches.

That helps a lot, that means my bx1500 should be able to lift it 14" or so due to smaller tires and such

If the one at Tractor supply is King Kutter, you need to go with the orange XB blade. Have one on my BX2230 and it is a good fit and you run out of traction before it gets filled. The BXxx50 and BXxx60 series machines have a higher 3pt then the earlier BXxx00 BXxx30 series machines.

Zlock....the blade is off right now, but I'm guessing it is about 18-20 inches.

Boy was I off. Having just mounted the RB, I measured the distance from the bottom of the cutting edge to the ground. It is 11 inches. Kinda late, you probably are already shoving snow regardless of the blade height.

I have a standard King Kutter 60" blade on my BX1500 and it works fine. To correct the low position of the lower links I replaced the fixed length lift rod with an adjustable one to match the other side, then dialed them both up about an inch or so. I set the length of the top link with the blade on the ground and inline with the tractor so that it is perfectly level. This allows me to angle it in any direction without gouging a corner. I haven't measured but I probably get about 18"-20" of lift height with this setup. No problems with the blade riding up either. She will push 8" of wet snow w/o losing traction or more if it is dry. One thing to consider with a blade is where to put the snow once it starts to pile up. Usually it isn't a problem here in N.VA but the winter before last I was doing a LOT of FEL work because I could no longer push back the banks with the rear blade!
