Buying Advice Buying Yanmar 1610d tractor. What do I have to know?

Hello,
I am buying a yanmar 1610d tractor from a private party.
What things should I look for and should know about?

I am actually going to represent my uncle who will not be there, and I have not bought a tractor before.

be carefull, many of those tractors were repaired in vietnam with what ever parts were laying around. Not all were but watch out. on the other hand yanmar is a good tractor i did a lot of reaserch when I ended up buying my massey,

I've got a 1610D w/a FEL.I love it.Make sure the 3pt works,the 4wd ,check for any leaks around the tractor.Check the radiator for leakage.Does it have a FEL?Drive it in 2wd and 4wd.The tranny is the powershift so you do'nt need to clutch to shift.Check all the speeds on the pto as well as the 3 settings on the tranny.The pto speed is back on the left fender,the 4wd lever is down by your L foot,the speed settings for the tranny is down by your R foot.The 3pt handle is on the R fender.Ed of all trades is right that a lot of Yanmars are "rehabbed"in VN.If it has a fel loader and the make of the loader is BullDog be xtra wary as it's prob. a VN recondition.What price is he wanting for it?...russ
