I also need to add some accessories, so I am hoping to find one in the $16,000 range so I can add more toys to it. I would really like to get a rotary broom or a snow plow for use on our driveway.

Thanks for letting me know what you paid.
I think you can get one in that price range.

I don't think the 16's or light 17's should be out of the question...Where do you live?...There is a big difference in snow removal ability between the 2 and I wouldn't want to buy both.

We live in NW Oregon so we don't get all that much snow. We just paved our driveway (about 1400 ft) and the grade is about 17%. In the past we never had a problem getting out (except a couple weeks a few years ago) but now with pavement I think we may have a problem.

I doubt that you'll ever find the true cost anywhere. I believe that invoice on cars is a manufactured number and not really the dealer cost.

Go to the Kubota site and do a build my Kubota. That would be your starting point. MSRP is listed..From there I would just start making phone calls. Someone around you will outbid everyone else. Happened every time in my case. Some dealers think they're sitting on gold and won't budge, others will be more than happy to work with you. Sometimes volume is better than hitting home runs.

Mine listed around 18k, but since it was a leftover, I got a fairly good discount.

Don't forget to try Barlow's as well. I didn't end up buying there, but they were unbelievable to work with. Kudos to them.

Wow, I'm totally in this same boat. I'm looking at buying a RTV 500 but by circumstances I'm also looking at a car for my wife at the same time. I run a small business and understand overhead and profit very well. Car dealerships need alot of $ to keep their doors open. I don't buy for one second that if they sell at invoice they can operate on a $500 kickback from the manufacturer. There is more to that then can be found on the internet and I think they are using the system of invoice pricing to their advantage, after all they set those prices.

Since I too refuse to pay MSRP (only because I know approx 10% is negotiable on most things) I too wondered what I should be paying for an RTV. I looked up the MSRP on the build site and the list was $9,699. My dealer quoted me $8,900 apples to apples so I'm not too sure he has much room to drop, especially since what I want he needs to order in. That said I did call around to 3 dealers within 150 miles and while 2 had the similar pricing 1 didn't, he was at list MSRP. I thanked him for the quote and said I'd call back if I was interested but he busted me and my shopping around by asking if he was "close" and I said no, your not:thumbdown:. Most are at $8,900. He admitted he would have a hard time selling for that price and made me a cash buy offer but it was still higher. Basically, calling around made me feel more at ease that I wasn't getting a raw deal with what I was first quoted locally and I found out about a rebate my dealer didn't mention so I can ask him if that was part if his price or not before I sign on the line.

My conclusion is that buying cars and equipment are different and need different approaches. (I think equipment dealers are more straight forward and honest and I wish they sold cars:laughing:)

It seems that $16600 is pretty easy to get for an RTV1100 around here. If I can find on for $16000 will probably pull the trigger.

I have contacted OVS and they seem like a nice group. I am planning to contact the others in our area but the Holidays have slowed me down. My wife wants me to get one in the next few weeks so I will be spending some time on this project.

Barlows came back with low $16000 for the RTV1100. The shipping is a killer though. I still may work out something with them.
