As for the New Holland/FIAT connection, just remember what FIAT stands for, "Fix It Again Tony".

Like the man said.... The Dealer can help you make the dicision.
I always go with the dealer I am most comfortable with and of course, location helps.
Good luck

as far as reliability, the TD5050 has been a great tractor for us. even the previous models, TD95D, no issues what so ever. they are simple, mechanical, heavy built utility tractors that are user friendly and reliable.
The M series really compares to the NH T4000 or T5050. THe TD5050 compares to the 5093E. But, for us, (waco,tx) we dont ever sale any of the T4000. Just not popular here. The TD is a bigger tractor, simplier and costs less. Here are some specs on the TD5050 compared to the Deere 5093E..(some of these are the same on the M series too)

Engine HP.......both are 93
PTO HP.....NH is 80......Deere....75 (NH is more efficient)
Tractor weight....8360......Deere.7300..(enough said)
3 point lift....NH..5025.....Deere.....3213
Hydraulics gpm.....25.6.........22.5
just to list a few.

I'm in the same boat I need to buy one more large tractor for the farm I've got a prices on the 5075 M self-leveling 563 loader $43,000 out the door about six grand more for 5090 M. series, new Holland was sitting a little higher on a T5050 but had more bells and whistles both tractors are perfect you couldn't go wrong with either choice, however I'm probably leaning towards the new Holland the loader and overall construction looks to be heavier the new Holland weighs more out the door dry weight . I think it really comes down to what dealer you like dealing with and who will give you the best service in your area, I've had a few go around with new Holland, but to be fair to them they've been pretty good to me so I might just give them my business again take care

For what it's worth, a friend of mine has a son with a fairly high level job at New Holland. He started with Ford Tractor right out of college and stayed with NH. According to him, New Holland is much better off under their current owners. These people want to be in the business and have plowed a ton of money into it.

I too had the Fix it Again Tony mentality when Chrysler was taken over by Fiat. But all signs right now, say they are **** of a lot better off than they were under Dieter and the boys.

And me? My motto today is.. "has to be Ford Blue, Deere Green or Have Two Sticks" ( I have a B-61X).

Has anyone considered the price of parts, NH vs JD?
Farmers around here say JD parts are more pricey.
I went NH this past year in part due to that. Also the 2 JD dealers
in my area were not very helpfull to me when I was looking!

Deere vs. New Holland? All the John Deere dealers will tell you there are very few Kubotas sent to the Nebraska tractor tests. Then they will tell you the equivalent to a 7040 Kubota (approx70 hp,) is an 80 Hp. Deere. Do your self a favor. Have Deere, New Holland, and Kubota each send out a demonstrator tractor all in the same horsepower range. Even if the tractor is slightly used. Run each tractor for an hour and you will have your answer. Have the dealers give you a written proposal for a new tractor, all with the same options. Let them know they are bidding against each other.

70 hp. Kubota vs. 70 hp. Deere? The choice was easy. Thanks to the 1910 Ford I have, we did not bother to look at New hollands

I'm running a 5075M, about 50 hrs on it. What a dream! Cabbed, were you looking at a cab? Cab is amazing. You are in a green forum, but I won't rail on blue too hard. But...when given the opportunity to replace a tractor I fought tooth and nail to get green. IMO... ergonomics, reliability, hydraulics, etc lead me to green over blue. What good is boasting about 4 more gpm when your pumps go out all of the time and you get to wait for them to come in from Italy? Sorry, just going by what I've seen. Good luck.
