Hi Aaron,

Someone may have said "300 CX lifts a ton" but really it's 1598 pounds /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif... either way, yeah it'll lift a lot better than the 2800...

But this is not apples to apples comparison, L2800 has way lower hydraulic capacity built in, as it is a "value" product Kubota has... the B3030 and L3130 are the "bells & whistles" Kubotas around this hp to compared with the b&w 3120...

L 3130 is best comparison machine for size, weight, hydraulics, etc.... there you'll see Kubotas better rated loaders & 3pt hitches... and that quote will get quite a bit higher also...

Neither machine is rated (did salesman recommend?) for a 6 foot cutter, unless it's a real light one... either might turn it... L2800 may have quite a load on the 3 pt with one...

Either machine will do the other tasks you mention, but you'll have to be a wizard with a FEL to grade well with it... I'd think about a rear or box blade... the 3120 will be able to do dirt work better than the 2800 with extra size/traction & lift capability.

Unless you are looking rock-bottom price wise check out the more comparable Kubotas before you decide--they are nice machines (even if the color scheme gives you a migraine /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif) that offer a lot... then get a handle on the 6 foot cutter plan & see what the dealers say...

Hi Cavesrus...

I'm by no means a tractor expert, but I just went through about what you're going through and can share what I found.

My package was a little different - I went with a FEL and a backhoe instead of the mower & brushhog.

For a L-3400 HST w/ loader & hoe, R4 tires - $22000.
For the JD 3320 equipped the same, $25150.
(best prices I found...)

The price difference between the 3320 & 3120 was just over $800. To upgrade to JD's 300CX loader was $400.

I'm pretty sure the price difference between the L2800 and L3400 Kubotas was about the same as the Deeres.

The Deere guy told me that the 3203 was what JD had intended to compete with the L2800/L3400. I never really considered it because no backhoe option was available. He feels that Kubota's Grand L series is more similar to the 3*20's. I found the Grands to physically be a bigger machine.
(The final price on my 3320 ended up being almost exactly the price I was quoted for a Grand L3130)

I spent a little over 3 grand more than the Kubota to go with the 3320, and also upgraded to the 300CX loader over the 300X. This was not necessarily because I thought the Deere was a better machine, but because I found it to be far more comfortable for me to operate and I think it is a more modern-looking machine. The Kubota's may "fit" you better, and I'm sure they're a fine machine.

The guys on here were a great help in my decision. I'm sure you will get plenty of good advice.
