Buying extra tires for BX23 - Turf, bar turf, bar

They drop off my new BX23 tomorrow and per the suggestions by many on this site I ordered an extra set of wheels and tires. I asked for bar turfs.

I told them I wanted the turf tires on the tractor when delivered. They asked if they could follow up with the other set later when they came in. No problem.

When talking with the salesman today he casually mentioned that they took the turfs off of another BX. When the new set of turfs come in for their BX, they would then supply me with the bars that originally came with the BX23 I am getting tomorrow.

Are the ones that come standard "Bar-turfs" or just "Bars"? If the standard one are bars, should I keep them or have them get me the bar-turfs?

The BX come with either a bar tire or a turf tire. I have bar tires mounted on mine and have the turf tires also. I have never put the turfs on because I don't have any problems with the bar tires on my turf. I would have problems with the turf tires when I am using the loader or the backhoe, because of the work that needs to be done. At the present rate of things, I doubt that I will mount the turfs before they die of dry rot.

I just wasn't sure if there was some intermediate tire I was supposed to be considering called a bar turf.

The reason that many of us call the bar tires on the BX "bar turfs" is that they are a little different than typical Ag tires...they are wider in profile and "float" on your ground not too differently than the regular turfs, but have significantly more traction when you need it. I didn't bother getting turfs for my BX22. The bar/turfs work universally well and I don't have any issues with marking on the lawn when mowing. And I save the time changing back and forth, since more time is spent with the machine using the FEL, etc., than with the mower deck.
